I had my official 12 week scan last Monday the 18th of August, It was very lovely. Seeing my little baby actually look like a baby and be moving and kicking was insane. And to have Sam with me as well so he could meet the baby was amazing. He didn't cry like I thought he would though. I just has a little tear but it was excitement more than anything, I could have watched him all day.
Then they took about 8 pints of blood out of my arm which was fantastic. I hate having injections or blood taken, Like I refused my BCG at school. I can't even remember the last time I had an injection but I can just about deal with blood tests IF they let me lie down.
Everyone is telling me it's a boy. I did the old wives tale of holding my wedding ring on string above my belly and it went in circles which means it's a boy too. I don't mind as long as it's healthy. I just can't wait to know, then it will be a real little person. I can't wait to feel it kick either. A lot to look forward to and feels like forever to wait!
I'm feeling a little better. Still a bit queasy especially with smells but a bit less tired although I am getting a lot of sleep. I'm in bed by at least 10 most nights. Before this I would never be in bed before 12! But I've heard you should get your sleep in while you can... Still weeing about 4 times a night which is not a joy but other than that I'm feeling a lot brighter.
I also found out that a really good old friend of mine is also pregnant and due two weeks before me which is cool. We can share this 'journey' together. I saw her for lunch on Saturday which was fun and we can watch our bumps grow together. I had my first look in a Mama and Papa's shop which was dangerous. Especially as I have no money. But we have been donated a cot which is not being put up yet as it's far too early but it's there ready. Sam is painting the baby room white as well but it needed to be done anyway. Just don't want to get ahead of ourselves until much nearer the date
Me and Samuel are going away this Friday for our anniversary which will be lovely if it doesn't rain :/ will be keeping our fingers crossed.
