I am 23 weeks tomorrow and progressing smoothly.. No massive side effects atm aside from a bit of back pain and actually a fair amount of tailbone pain when I've been sat at my desk all day! A nice big bubble bath when I get in normally does the trick :)
We have painted her a pink wall in her bedroom and fingers crossed getting carpets put in next week so once they're done we can really start getting her room all set up. I know I am slightly early in doing this but you can never be too prepared, and I'm enjoying it.
Din't end up going to yoga this week as the teacher was sick so hopefully will go another week. I am also seriously looking at a paid antenatal class. I have also been reading a book called 'The good birth companion' which is really helpful in looking at labour positively. A lot of the things it explains do make sense and I want to be as prepared as possible, mentally for labour. Mind over matter and all that. Hypno-birthing half appeals to me... You can do an intense one day course near me but it's £200 which is a lot. So I think I will just read up and try and get as much as I can off the wonderful internet.
We definitely have our name for her now. Some people think it is a bit old fashioned but we love it. This week the beautiful Christmas John Lewis advert was released and our name has been stolen by one of the characters! So hopefully this won't lead to a massive surge in our name being used as we like it because it's quite unique!
Had the pre-hen do Saturday night. I just stuck around for the pre-drinking which was quite fun, obviously I didn't participate in the games in quite the same way but it was still nice to see my friends. Actual hen do is in a couple of weeks which may be a bit trickier as I won't be able to go home when I've had enough of drunk people but I'm sure I'll be fine. I felt quite smug the day after when they were all suffering from horrific hangovers and I was feeling fresh as a daisy... Every cloud.
People can definitely feel her move now. Sam has sat a lot this week with his hand on my stomach and felt all her kicks and protests. She was especially active one night when we were watching a clip about his favourite video game and the theme tune was playing so he has taken this to believe she will be a gamer. Which is more than likely to be honest as both of us are closet geeks. (Shhh). A couple of other people have had a little feel as well and got a kick. She changes sides daily but usually they are quite high under my rib cage, and if I can be bothered to stare at my stomach for a while I can see them as well as feel them. Definitely the high point to being pregnant thus far.
Still enjoying all foods a little too much. Putting on quite a bit of weight which is half worrying me, I have already put a stone on and I'm not tall so all my pants and pre-baby leggings are not massively fitting. I don't think I'm a size 6-8 any more which is quite sad. I think I need to go out and buy some big comfy knickers so they're not digging into me all day. Or just keep squeezing into them in complete denial...
Looking forward to this weekend where I have nearly nothing planned... Just cleaning and sorting and doing house things. Nice and relaxing for me and baby and husband.
