So I'm 38+6 today which means tomorrow I will be a week away from my due date eeeek! I know I could still go over but the end is definitely in sight! I have had a nice week, I have good days and bad days really with how fed up I feel but generally quite positive! Some days I get stuff done and feeling energised, some days I watch a lot of tv... I don't beat myself up on the lazy days. (And luckily neither does Sam !) Have just come back from a breakfast date with all my ante-natal ladies which was lovely to catch up with them all! One girl has had her little bundle of joy and brought him along and he is absolutely gorgeous. She makes it look easy too... He was so good and didn't even cry during the whole meal. Being able to ask her questions was great because she was honest but nothing seemed too bad. Just realistic. I hope I have a good birth I can talk about and help other people with. She had him in a sling most of the time and I do really like them. Have got one but it's not as nice as hers... May need to invest in one, they look so handy for you and comfy for baby, win win. Having the girls over for a spicy Thai takeaway tonight in hope it moves things along... I don't think it will be this weekend but you never know. Have been having Braxton hicks/backache/period like pains etc which are the early signs of labour but I think she won't come until her due date. Early labour signs are going to occur at the end of pregnancy regardless of whether they indicate it actually happening! Think she'll be right on time... Had a midwife appointment this week which went fine. Baby is fully engaged and ready to go, heartbeat all good etc. I have been diagnosed with SPD which is the pain I've been getting in my pelvis particularly when I get out of bed or turn over but it's fairly common at the end of pregnancy and some people get it much worse than me. I have been advised to not do anything too strenuous for more than 15 mins and to rest lots which is pretty much what I'm doing anyway. And I've got to keep my knees together as much as possible getting in and out of the car and all that sort of stuff. Which is shit and it does hurt me to move/walk for too long but I don't have much longer to deal with it... 7days hopefully :) Also apparently as soon as the baby is out all your pregnancy aches and pains magically disappear and you feel normal again which I don't know whether to believe but it sounds blissful. Got most of the bags packed now waiting, and also got our car seat all fitted so it's all ready in the back of my car... So weird seeing it there... Gonna be so surreal taking her home in it! Also got a baby on board sticker and a mirror that faces her as the seat is backward facing so I can keep an eye on her while driving :) Not too much else to report really... Every blog may be my last! It is really the final countdown!! |
