Been rubbish at writing a new post so I have a lot to catch up with but it's been a busy couple of weeks!
Am officially on maternity leave which is a blessing as I can spend more time relaxing and preparing. I wanted to finish as late as possible but I was suffering and now I'm so glad I went that week early. It's frustrating still though because I get so out of breath so quickly, so I can't do as much as I want to around the house, but I can do things in-between rests which will have to do! I have a long to do list which should get done in the two and a half weeks I have left unless she decides to come early!
I think realistically she will come near about on time though. I've had quite a 'standard' pregnancy so hopefully she'll turn up right on time. I have started drinking the occasional mug of raspberry leaf tea which is said to strengthen the uterus to help with labour and possibly get you started, so wonder if that will do anything! No harm in trying a few old wives tales; nearer my due date i'll crank up the walking and spicy food!
I had my lovely friends wedding on the 7th of Feb and I was a bridesmaid. There's some professional photos on the way so i'll put them on here when they are ready. It was an amazing day and I actually felt alright throughout it, I lasted until about half 9 before my feet were too sore to keep going! Even had a little boogie with the husband. Really good fun and certainly a day to be remembered :) also had valentines last weekend which was fairly chilled, me and Sam have never really fussed too much over it! But he made me breakfast and I did a nice romantic meal, even had half a glass of fizz. Mental.
Had the last of my ante-natal classes as well, but we've already got a date in the diary to all meet up. One of the ladies actually had her baby last week which was very exciting and it sounded like she had an awesome birth which is encouraging but she's also set the bar high for a nice natural birth! I hope mine goes like it sounds hers did. There's two other girls with due dates in front of mine, I'm fourth on the list! Wonder if we'll all be in order... Only time will tell now.
Had my latest midwife appointment at Wexham BC instead of the GP's and I have another one booked in on the Monday past my due date where I'll be offered a sweep if I want. I think it will depend on how fed up I feel, although I am fed up at the moment it has significantly decreased by being off work. I've had lots of lunches and a couple of evenings with my girls and I'm enjoying not having any heavy plans. So even though I'm uncomfortable it's really quite bearable as I know I'm on the home stretch now. So having a sweep might get things moving but I know they can be fairly uncomfortable so it'll really depend on how I'm feeling on the day.
Getting the same aches and pains really, back, pelvis and my feet feel sore quite quickly after too much walking about. But all pretty standard pregnancy gripes so I can't complain too much. Had my pregnancy massage this week which was such a treat. They did it on a giant beanbag on the floor where I lay on my sides. It was lush and really necessary. I spent most of it wishing I was rich so I could have one every week. It was at the Nuffield gym in Stoke Poges for anyone interested but I'm not sure how much it cost as it was a gift. It was all over body massage and included a little facial at the end. She didn't massage my belly but did rub oil into it. Proper treat for your aching pregnancy body, if you can get one, do!
I am in the process of packing hospital bags. Have done the babies one and I will do a separate post on what I've included soon :) just mine and Sam's to do now and we can put them by the door all ready to go! As I'm past 37 weeks I'm absolutely fine to go to the birth centre if there aren't any complications so I'm really just waiting for labour signs now. So ready to meet my baby girl <3
