Hello everyone :)
Busy-ish week. Another class last night which was fun. Getting to know the couples more, which is good. Hopefully we'll make a few 'baby' friends to stay in touch with. We looked at induction and monitoring during labour which was interesting and useful to learn about, I just hope I go into labour naturally... I think at 37 weeks I will start trying a few old wives tales nice and early to encourage it. But I think they tend to just come when they're ready. I'm just already fairly fed up and impatient so I think if I go to 42 weeks I will be an absolute nightmare. It will be better when I'm not at work. I've actually just moved my leaving date forward a week because I'm struggling with my back so much. So now I think I'm looking at the 5th of Feb which sounds nice and soon. I will be able to enjoy a month off before she comes and just get everything done I need to.
The 7th of Feb is when I am being a bridesmaid. Pray for me that I don't get much bigger than I already am! I'm already waddling down the aisle as it is! Hopefully my hair and make-up will take the emphasis off my bump. I'm going to need a bit of contouring on my face I reckon to give my face some definition as it definitely has a round vibe to it right now. Need to practice my camera angles. I have my dress now though, which is different to the other bridesmaids but very similar and it fits me nicely so at least I'll be comfy. Need to decide on some shoes though...
My baby shower is this Saturday. I'm very excited. I haven't really had much to do with the planning but I'm helping with the cooking on Friday night. Should have some nice pictures next week of all our fun and games! Hope I don't get too tired from it but I should be fine and can rest all day Sunday.
Had my doctors appointment last week where I was prescribed some Gaviscon for my occasional heartburn, and unfortunately told my back problems were probably here to stay until she arrives. She said I can take paracetamol, but I don't want to be taking it everyday. I will save it for special occasions. It's sitting up straight, or sitting without any back support that causes intense pain which is why being at my desk is shit. But I have worked from home a couple of afternoons which makes the world of difference. Particularly to my mood! I can also use hot water bottles and warm baths which I was already utilising. I cannot describe the pleasure of heat on a painful back. Always does the trick. Had insomnia a couple of times this week which wasn't fun. Sometimes when I have my many bathroom trips in the night I get straight back to sleep, other times something will be on my mind and as soon as you start thinking about things it's impossible to switch off. I can't live without my pregnancy pillow now. It is an absolute lifesaver. Buy one if you're pregnant. This is my one.
I also had my whooping cough jab which wasn't too bad. Getting so much braver with injections. Still can't look at the needle or watch it or anything but I can deal with it and not freak out. My arm was a bit sore for a couple days but nothing major and now baby is hopefully protected from getting the nasty cough which is what it's all about :) can't imagine how horrible it will be taking her for jabs.
Got given some more clothes and another baby monitor. People are so generous. Sam literally has some customers giving him little bits and bobs of baby stuff all the time. It's so sweet considering they've never even met me. We've decided when baby comes he's going to take the whole week off. Windows can wait! Being his own boss gives him that luxury I guess and it's only a week. We're just going to barricade ourselves in and try and enjoy the first week of madness and nappies. If people want to visit they will be welcome but they will have to accept that I will probably be in pyjamas. And should bring food.
Still no stretch marks but I can feel my skin getting tighter. Just gotta keep applying my lotions and keeping my fingers crossed. Also no particular cravings. Still eating a lot but trying not to go mad. I'm just always so hungry. I hope my sweet tooth disappears after she's here because I need to get this weight off and chocolate will not help. Do food preferences go back to normal??
I made Sam take a couple of pictures of me after our class this week so you can see how I'm growing! Hint: Massive and still 7 weeks till due date (!) He still hasn't smoked since New Years Day and I'm so proud of him. <3
